For Hungary, the test is completely different. The United States remains the tournament's biggest favorite. Lelik and Takacs-Kis will draw extra attention, and Hungary will need bench scorers. The win over Japan is encouraging, but it does not change the gap in overall talent. One bad quarter can end a team's tournament, and Hungary will need disciplined basketball rather than risky shots. The larger point is that European teams are no longer just participants. The next round will show whether Germany can turn home-court energy into a win over Belgium and whether Hungary can drag the United States into a slower, more physical game.
